ROTI®Plate90 zijn geprepareerde kweekbodemplaten met een diameter van 90 mm. Ze zijn daardoor aangepast aan de grootte van membraanfilters voor het testen van vloeistoffen met een laag kiemgetal via de membraanfiltratiemethode. Ze zijn tevens geschikt voor de microbiologische analyse van monsters in het algemeen. De kiemen van verwachte vloeibare monsters met een laag kiemgetal worden geconcentreerd door middel van membraanfiltratie. Vervolgens wordt het membraan boven op het medium geplaatst en geïncubeerd. Het gebruik van een membraan met een raster helpt bij het tellen van de gevormde kolonies. Onze producten zijn uitsluitend getest en goedgekeurd voor onderzoek en ontwikkeling.
Monsters waarvan een hogere microbiologische belasting wordt verwacht, worden verwerkt in een seriële verdunning. Daarna wordt elke verdunningsstap uitgeplaat en geïncubeerd. Het aantal gegroeide kolonies wordt als resultaat genoteerd.
Gistextract-agar wordt aanbevolen door de Europese ISO-norm 6222 voor het testen van watermonsters op de aanwezigheid van kweekbare micro-organismen en voor het tellen ervan.
Gistextract en tryptone zijn de basisvoedingsstoffen van dit medium. Het aanwezige gistextract is het in water oplosbare deel van gehydrolyseerde gist en is een bron van vitaminen, in het bijzonder van de B-groep, en groeistoffen die de ontwikkeling van de micro-organismen stimuleren. Pancreatisch verteerd caseïne is een belangrijk melkeiwit en een rijke bron van stikstof en aminozuren, met name tryptofaan, dat waardevol is voor het detecteren van indoolproductie.
