Chemical-resistant gloves

A chemical-resistant glove is tested for permeation by named chemicals, for a stated time. The material, nitrile, neoprene, butyl or a laminate, decides which list it survives. A thin disposable nitrile glove is not this article. The permeation table, not the colour, is the specification.

A glove is a barrier on the hand, and the barrier is only as good as the hazard it was tested against. Nitrile, latex and vinyl disposable gloves are for splash and for incidental contact. A chemical-resistant glove is a different article, tested for permeation by named chemicals. A cut-resistant glove is for blades and edges. Cold and heat need yet another material.
