Periodic Acid Schiff staining is generally used for detecting carbohydrates in tissue.
Directions for use
Staining is carried out in 3 steps: Periodic acid transforms 1.2 glycol groups to aldehyde groups, which are stained with Schiff’s reagent. Hemalum solution performs counter staining of nuclei.Result: Carbohydrates red, nuclei blue-violet.
