A 11 basic S002 analytical mill with UK plug is a versatile batch mill for laboratory sample preparation, fitted with a United Kingdom mains connector. It supports two grinding procedures: impact grinding of hard, brittle or embrittled materials with a stainless-steel beater usable up to Mohs hardness 6 (included), and cutting grinding of soft, fibrous materials with a cutting knife (not included). Moist and sticky feed materials can be comminuted by adding water. The grinding cup is fabricated from Tefcel (glass-fibre-reinforced ETFE) with a stainless-steel inlet of grade 1.4571 and provides 80 ml useful volume; it is included and permits embrittlement with liquid nitrogen directly inside the chamber. A 250 ml grinding cup is available optionally. This UK-plug version from manufacturer IKA is delivered as a single unit with a net weight of 1,930 kg and delivers the same flexible analytical performance as the standard A 11 basic where British electrical standards apply.
