Heat-protection gloves for autoclave, length 52 cm, size S, are laboratory gloves designed for safe handling of hot autoclave loads and other high-temperature tasks. They are made from Nomex III fibres — a combination of heat-resistant aromatic and non-melting polyamides — and contain no asbestos fibres. Under normal working conditions the physical properties are retained for several hours at 260 °C, and temperatures up to 370 °C are tolerated before material degradation begins. Flames do not melt or dissolve the gloves; they only carbonize and form a crust that still protects. Handling of materials stored in nitrogen vapour (−180 °C) is possible when contact is intermittent. The gloves resist bases, acids and organic products, though not prolonged exposure to certain concentrated inorganic acids. From manufacturer Labbox in 52 cm overall length (size S), they fulfil EN 407, EN 388 and EN 21420:2020. Low thermal conductivity and double material thickness support effective protection in very hot settings; keep the gloves dry, as water taken up by the fibres can conduct heat.
