Basic Red 14 is a dark red, easily water-soluble powder that produces an intense red color in water. It is particularly suitable for acrylic fibers, modified polyester, and direct printing on cellulose acetate fibers. The color remains stable in a pH range of 2 to 6, even in dye baths containing sulfuric or formic acid. Due to its high color intensity and adhesive properties, Basic Red 14 is also used in police and forensic science, for example, to reveal fingerprints or biological traces such as blood or sweat on various surfaces.
