Brilliant cresyl blue solution, For staining of reticulocytes, 100 ml, glass

The anticoagulated blood sample should be mixed in equal parts with brilliant cresyl blue solution. Mix the solution and incubated for approx. 30 min at room temperature. After mixing again, thin smears are prepared and the reticulocytes are analyzed microscopically. The number of reticulocytes is determined in relation to the number of erythrocytes (unit percentage).Staining result:Reticulocytes: dark blue network or punctateAll other blood cells: weak blue to weak green
