Corn Steep Liquor (CSL) is a liquid by-product of corn processing that results from the wet milling of corn for the production of corn starch and corn sugar. It contains a variety of nutrients such as amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, organic acids, vitamins, and minerals.
Application:
- CSL is often used as a nutrient source in microbial fermentation processes, for example, in the production of antibiotics, enzymes, or bioethanol.
