Dual water softener DUO-35 is a volume-controlled water softening plant for removal of carbonate and magnesium hardness. Through its duplex layout, the unit switches between two ion-exchange cartridges filled with ion-exchange resin shortly before resin saturation, so soft-water production remains continuous. The control head can be fitted with different hardness discs matched to inlet-water hardness, allowing operation with water hardnesses up to 56 °dH. Flow performance ranges from a minimum of 2 l/min to a maximum of 20 l/min. Each regeneration uses 0,65 kg of salt, lasts 11 min and consumes 53 l of water, with a backwash rate of 5,3 l/min. Resin volume is 2 × 11,3 l and salt storage capacity is 36 kg. Operating pressure is 2,5–8 bar; hard- and soft-water connections are 3/4''; the operating temperature range is 2–65 °C. With a net weight of 33 kg, the DUO-35 from manufacturer Evoqua Water Technologies provides continuous softened feed water for laboratory and technical applications.
