DURAN® flat flange bell jar with opening in the neck is precision laboratory glassware for experiments under vacuum. It features a standard ground joint NS 34/35 and a diameter of 315 mm, providing a tight seal via the ground joint while the neck opening allows connection of additional apparatus. Although many trials run at atmospheric pressure, operation under reduced pressure can markedly influence reaction pathways. To examine such effects in the coarse and fine vacuum range, a vacuum experiment plate is combined with a flat flange bell jar (also called an air-pump bell). Made from borosilicate glass 3.3 by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the vessel carries a permanently fired white print for durable identification. Supplied as one piece with a net weight of 9,3 kg and gross weight of 9,83 kg, it is intended for vacuum applications and work in underpressure chambers where controlled conditions below ambient pressure are required.
