DURAN® gas distribution tube with side-mounted filter cup, 6 mm diameter and porosity 1 serves gas filtration and purification work in the laboratory. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3, the tube contains an integrated glass filter that divides the gas flow into small bubbles, maximising contact area with the liquid medium. When used in a gas-washing bottle the immersed tube forces gas through the liquid so contaminants are bound before the purified stream leaves the apparatus. A permanently fired white print provides lasting identification. Applications cover gas–liquid reactions, cleaning of gas mixtures and filtration procedures.
