DURAN® gas distribution tube with straight-mounted filter bowl (Ø 9 mm, porosity 2) is a borosilicate glass 3.3 component for laboratory gas filtration and purification. An integrated glass filter plate breaks the incoming gas into fine bubbles, generating a large interfacial area with the surrounding liquid. Immersed in a gas-washing bottle, the tube compels the gas to travel through the liquid so impurities are retained and the gas is effectively washed or cleaned. Permanently fired white print ensures lasting identification of the article. Principal uses include gas–liquid reactions, purification of gas mixtures and filtration; the series is available with either straight or laterally mounted filter bowls.
