Beschreibung

Sartocon® Slice 50 PES 10 kDa 50 cm² E-Screen is a ready-to-use fully disposable crossflow module with an effective filtration area of 50 cm², intended for membrane screening and process development. The polyethersulfone (PES) membrane is a stable polymer suited to a broad pH and temperature range and is supplied here with a 10 kDa nominal molecular weight cut-off and E-Screen configuration. Female Luer Lock connectors allow straightforward connection to laboratory systems. Net weight is 0,200 kg and gross weight 0,266 kg, ensuring convenient bench-top handling. Offered by manufacturer Sartorius, the module eliminates cleaning validation and reduces carry-over between experiments thanks to its single-use design. It enables rapid generation of ultrafiltration data with minimal sample volumes, supporting early process characterisation and scale-up decisions. The 50 cm² area provides sufficient surface for meaningful flux and retention measurements while remaining compact. Supplied as one piece, this cassette is a practical tool for evaluating PES membrane performance under realistic crossflow conditions in biotech and pharmaceutical laboratories.

This article is part of Membrane filters, in Filtration.

Questions about Sartocon Slice 50; PESU 10kD /50cm²

What is this article?

Sartocon Slice 50; PESU 10kD /50cm² is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Membrane filters, inside Filtration, in Verbrauchsmaterialien.

A membrane filter is the disc itself, without a syringe housing. Pore size, polymer and diameter are the specification, and the disc has to sit in a holder. Gridded membranes are for counting colonies. A membrane and a filter paper of the same diameter are not interchangeable.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
