Description

The KERN KUP-08 adapter is an interface adapter with cable that converts the measured weighing value proportionally into an analogue signal. It supports analogue outputs of 0–10 V and 4–20 mA so that the signal can control an analogue system responding to weight. Cable length is 0,15 m. The KERN Universal Port (KUP) enables exchange of data and control commands between a balance and a network, PC, mobile device, printer or similar equipment via multiple interfaces, including RS-232, USB device, Ethernet, Bluetooth and WLAN. This supports clear integration of KERN balances into manufacturing or process chains and helps keep laboratory and production workflows continuous and straightforward. Following the plug-and-play principle, the relevant KUP simply plugs onto the DB-15 connector integrated in the instrument, so interfaces can be retrofitted or exchanged without opening the balance housing or carrying out complex installation work. Available from manufacturer Kern, the KUP-08 analogue module therefore offers high flexibility at modest additional cost wherever weight-proportional analogue feedback is required.

Questions about Adapter KERN KUP-08

What is this article?

Adapter KERN KUP-08 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KERN for laboratory use. It sits in Balance accessories, calibration & certificates, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.

These are the draft shields, the pans, the ionisers, the printers and the calibration certificates that belong to a balance. A certificate states the errors found at stated loads. It does not make a different balance correct.

A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
