Description
Photometer for chloride is a dedicated portable HI97xxx-series meter for photometric chloride determination from 0,0 to 20,0 mg/L as Cl⁻. Resolution is 0,1 mg/L, with accuracy at 25 °C of ±0,5 mg/L ±6 % of reading. The method is adapted from the mercury(II) thiocyanate procedure. An advanced optical system combines an LED, a narrow-band interference filter at 525 nm and a silicon photocell in a housing sealed against dust, dirt and external water; cuvettes lock into a fixed position for reproducible optics. Chloride is a major inorganic anion in water and wastewater and is monitored in boilers and cooling towers to limit corrosion, in drinking water for aesthetic and taste reasons, and in agriculture where elevated natural levels can harm plants. CAL Check™ with NIST-traceable standards allows on-demand performance verification and recalibration. A tutorial mode details sample preparation and reagent quantities; GLP stores last calibration date and time, the last 50 readings are saved automatically, and timer, battery status and auto power-off support field and lab work. Rated IP67 for 0 to 50 °C, the Hanna Instruments kit includes two capped cuvettes, plastic inserts, CAL Check™ standards, scissors, cleaning cloth, three 1,5 V batteries, quality certificate and manual in a transport case; reagents are ordered separately.
