Description

Gassing filter candle 150 µm for culture aeration is designed for controlled gas introduction into MyFerm 10 l, 15 l and 20 l fermenters. The unit is supplied complete with threaded connection and a 9 mm screw olive for hose connections, allowing straightforward integration into laboratory bioreactor setups. It is introduced into the vessel via the lid closure or a side neck; the filter candle at the end provides fine distribution of the incoming gas stream throughout the culture. Diameter is 6 mm and length is approximately 440 mm, with a GL 14 connection thread. Gas throughput is approximately 8 litres/min at a differential pressure of 20 mbar and approximately 20 litres/min at 50 mbar. Construction uses laboratory glass in Clean Save quality from manufacturer Landgraf HLL. A suitable screw fitting is required: GL 18 (8 mm) or GL 25 (8 mm). An optional aeration pump can be used as accessory. This component supports reliable culture aeration and even gas dispersion in MyFerm systems for fermentation and related laboratory work.

What is this article?

Aeration filter cartridge 150 ym for aeration of cultures, MyFerm 10/15/20 l is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Landgraf HLL for laboratory use. It sits in Cell culture accessories, inside Cell culture, in Microbiology lab supplies.

Cell-culture accessories are the pipettes, the filters and the small tools that stay sterile around a cabinet: aspirators, tube caps, rack inserts. The point is sterility and a material that does not leach into the medium. A non-sterile version of the same shape is a different article.

Cell culture grows cells outside the body. The medium, often with serum, supplies what the flask does not. A flask or a dish is the vessel, treated so the cells attach or left untreated so they float. Contamination by microbes, or by another cell line, is the ordinary failure. Cold-chain articles in this work, including serum, are never part of free standard delivery. Lines are catalogued by ATCC. Papers are on PubMed. Practice is summarised by the WHO laboratory biosafety topic.
