Description
Bead Genie, 230 V without plug, is a compact bead mill homogenizer for lysing, extracting and homogenizing samples with an aggressive vertical mixing motion. Its solid cast-metal construction and powerful 19 mm vertical orbit deliver stable, non-slip agitation for demanding laboratory workflows. Digital speed and timer control support continuous use, countdown timing and interval operation across a range from 500 to 4,800 min⁻¹. Tool-free interchangeable tube holders enable vertical loading of 12 micro tubes (1,5 or 2,0 ml), six 15 ml or 5 ml tubes, or three 50 ml or 20 ml tubes, plus horizontal holding of 12 micro tubes (1,5 or 2,0 ml). Supplied as one unit from manufacturer Ohaus, the package includes the housing with non-slip feet, power cable and four holders; beads are available separately as accessories. An LCD/LED display aids set-up, while the instrument measures 355,6 mm in width, 254 mm in height and 457,2 mm in depth, with a net weight of 6,038 kg. Designed for robust everyday sample disruption, it combines proven Genie-series handling with a practical laboratory footprint.

Questions about Bead Genie, 230V, w/o plug
What is this article?
Bead Genie, 230V, w/o plug is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Ohaus for laboratory use. It sits in Vortex mixers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A vortex mixer oscillates a cup so a tube pressed into it spins its contents into a vortex. It mixes a tube in seconds. It does not mix a flask, and it is not a substitute for a shaker when the method says thirty minutes.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
