Description

BM N20-L is an N 20 bimetal crimp cap finished in silver and blue and supplied with a centre hole for septum access. It is fitted with a white silicone / beige PTFE septum rated at 45° Shore A hardness and a septum thickness of 3,0 mm, providing a reliable sealing interface for chromatography vials and related analytical workflows. The bimetal construction supports secure crimping while the dual-layer septum combines the resealing behaviour of silicone with the chemical resistance of PTFE on the sample-facing side. Packaged in units of 100 pieces, these caps are intended as consumable accessories for routine sample preparation, storage and injection in laboratory chromatography setups. Offered from manufacturer Macherey-Nagel, the BM N20-L format matches standard N 20 neck finishes and is suited to laboratories that require consistent colour coding, defined septum hardness and controlled septum thickness for reproducible sealing performance across series of analyses.

This article is part of Vial caps & septa, in Vials, caps & septa.

Questions about BM N20-H, si/bl, Sil w/PTFE bg, 45° 3.0

What is this article?

BM N20-H, si/bl, Sil w/PTFE bg, 45° 3.0 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in Vial caps & septa, inside Vials, caps & septa, in Chromatography equipment.

A vial cap and a septum have to match the vial neck: crimp, screw or snap, and the diameter. The septum material, PTFE/silicone or rubber, decides chemical resistance and how many times a needle can pierce it. A septum that sheds into the solvent becomes ghost peaks.

An autosampler vial is the small closed bottle a chromatograph picks up. The neck is crimp, screw or snap, and the cap and the septum have to be that neck. The septum is the part the needle pierces. A soft septum reseals. A septum that is wrong for the solvent swells or sheds particles into the sample. Inserts reduce the volume when the sample is scarce. The separation they feed is described with IUPAC names and PubChem data.
