Description

BOLA bellows NS 19/26 – NS 19/26 PTFE with pointed folds are flexible ground-joint connectors for mid-size laboratory glassware that must tolerate angular offset. Fabricated from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), they incorporate pointed folds and sealing rings on the outside of the ground-joint cone, supporting deflection of up to 120°. Socket and cone both conform to NS 19/26 (European standard), creating a continuous NS 19/26 interface suitable for distillation columns, reactors, and vacuum lines built on this joint size. Total length varies between a minimum of 93 mm and a maximum of 105 mm, combining modest axial extension with the lateral freedom of the fold geometry. Net weight is 0,051 kg. Offered as a single piece from manufacturer Bohlender, these PTFE bellows serve routine laboratory applications where chemical resistance, cleanability, and reliable sealing at NS 19/26 joints are required without introducing metal or soft elastomer components into the process stream.

This article is part of Distillation heads, adapters & columns, in Distillation & extraction glassware.

What is this article?

BOLA Bellows, NS 19/26 - NS 19/26 PTFE, with sharp folds is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Distillation heads, adapters & columns, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A still head, an adapter or a column is the glass between the boiling flask and the condenser. A Vigreux or packed column gives the vapour a surface so a closer-boiling mixture can separate. The joint sizes at both ends have to match the flask and the condenser.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
