Description

BOLA bellows NS 29/32 – NS 29/32 PTFE with pointed folds form flexible links between matching standard ground joints in laboratory setups. Fabricated from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), they combine broad chemical inertness with the ability to deflect angularly by up to 120°. Pointed folds plus sealing rings on the exterior of the ground-joint core support a secure seal at the cone interface. Sleeve and core both correspond to European standard NS 29/32. Total length ranges from a minimum of 100 mm to a maximum of 120 mm, giving modest axial compliance without compromising joint integrity. Delivered as a single piece with a net weight of 0,085 kg, the bellows are useful in distillation trains, reaction apparatus and vacuum lines where slight misalignment or movement must be accommodated. These BOLA bellows from manufacturer Bohlender help protect glassware by absorbing lateral and angular forces that would otherwise act directly on the joints, while retaining full PTFE compatibility with aggressive media.

What is this article?

BOLA Bellows, NS 29/32 - NS 29/32 PTFE, with sharp folds is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Distillation heads, adapters & columns, inside Distillation & extraction glassware, in Labware.

A still head, an adapter or a column is the glass between the boiling flask and the condenser. A Vigreux or packed column gives the vapour a surface so a closer-boiling mixture can separate. The joint sizes at both ends have to match the flask and the condenser.

Distillation separates liquids by boiling point. A condenser turns the vapour back into liquid: Liebig, coil and cold-finger shapes differ in how much cooling surface they offer. A still head and a column sit between the flask and the condenser. A Soxhlet extractor washes a solid again and again with the same solvent. Ground joints have a standard size, and the joint, not the flask, is what has to match. The pieces are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
