Description

BOLA KPG glass stirring shaft with crescent stirring blade is a precision laboratory stirrer for vessels with ground joint NS 29/32. The KPG shaft is fitted with a double tenon in ground and polished borosilicate glass, and the tiltable crescent stirring blade with double groove is made entirely of PTFE. Because the process medium contacts only PTFE and glass, the assembly offers universal chemical resistance in routine laboratory mixing. Overall length is 350 mm, shaft diameter 10 mm and chuck diameter 8 mm; the crescent blade measures 50 × 24 × 3 mm. Net weight is 0,052 kg. The tiltable half-moon geometry eases insertion through narrow necks and supports effective agitation once the blade is deployed. This BOLA component from manufacturer Bohlender is intended for use with compatible KPG stirring drives and NS 29/32 glassware where glass–PTFE wetted surfaces are required. Supplied as a single piece for laboratory stirring applications.

This article is part of Distillation heads, adapters & columns, in Distillation & extraction glassware.

Questions about BOLA KPG Glass Stirrer Shafts, L 350 mm Ø 10 mm NS 29/32 GLASS/PTFE, Moon-Shaped

What is this article?

BOLA KPG Glass Stirrer Shafts, L 350 mm Ø 10 mm NS 29/32 GLASS/PTFE, Moon-Shaped is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring & mixing accessories, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

Stirring accessories are the bosses, the retort clamps and the spare knobs that hold an overhead stirrer over the vessel. The stand has to carry the motor's mass, not only the flask's.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
