Description

BOLA half-moon stirring shaft RS is a laboratory stirrer shaft built for gentle yet effective mixing in vessels with restricted openings. It features a PTFE-coated stainless steel shaft and a tiltable half-moon blade with double groove; the blade and blade holder are made entirely of PTFE. Only PTFE contacts the medium, giving broad chemical resistance across aggressive reagents. Overall length is 800 mm with a shaft diameter of 16 mm and a clamping diameter of 10 mm; the assembly fits ground joint NS 45/40. Blade dimensions are 125 × 35 × 3 mm. The tiltable half-moon geometry eases insertion through narrow necks and supports efficient planar stirring once deployed. This model from manufacturer Bohlender has a net weight of 1,02 kg and is supplied as one piece for flat-blade stirrer applications in chemical synthesis, process development and general laboratory work where PTFE-wetted construction is required.

This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about BOLA Moon-Shaped Stirrer Shafts RCD, L 800 mm Ø 16 mm 125x35x3 mm Reduced Chucki

What is this article?

BOLA Moon-Shaped Stirrer Shafts RCD, L 800 mm Ø 16 mm 125x35x3 mm Reduced Chucki is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
