Description

BOLA screw-in hose olives G 1/4" with 9 mm olive outer diameter are straight PTFE connecting pieces designed for secure attachment of elastic tubing in laboratory fluid systems. Each olive provides a reliable barbed connection for flexible hoses such as Viton®, Tygon® or silicone, while the G 1/4 male screw-in thread allows direct mounting into correspondingly threaded ports. The medium contacts only PTFE, giving universal chemical resistance across a wide range of solvents, acids and bases. Overall length is 22 mm, the through-bore measures 5,0 mm and the olive outer diameter is 9,0 mm; a 15 mm wrench flat simplifies installation. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Bohlender, these fittings are well suited for inert gas lines, reagent transfer and general laboratory tubing assemblies where a clean PTFE flow path is required. The compact geometry and chemically inert construction make them a practical choice for both temporary and permanent fluidic setups in research and analytical environments.

Questions about BOLA Screw-In Tubing Connectors, G 1/4'' Ø 9 mm PTFE

What is this article?

BOLA Screw-In Tubing Connectors, G 1/4'' Ø 9 mm PTFE is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
