Description

BOLA olive plug cock 2-way with outer olive diameter 4,5 mm in PTFE is a compact stopcock for low-pressure laboratory fluid lines. This two-way valve uses a straight bore and two olives for connecting elastic tubing such as Viton®, Tygon® or silicone. The conical PTFE plug is tightened via a cone nut on the underside to increase sealing performance during operation. Only PTFE contacts the flowing medium, giving universal chemical resistance for a wide range of laboratory chemicals. Bore diameter is 1,5 mm and the olives suit tubing with an inner diameter of 4 mm. Approximate external dimensions are 60 × 22 × 53 mm, with a net weight of 0,032 kg. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer Bohlender, the BOLA design is intended for gentle pressure regimes in analytical, preparative and general laboratory setups. It supports clean media routing, sampling and shut-off tasks where a chemically inert PTFE flow path and simple olive hose connections are preferred for flexible tubing systems.

Questions about BOLA Stopcocks with Hose Connectors, aØ 4,5 mm PTFE, for low pressures

What is this article?

BOLA Stopcocks with Hose Connectors, aØ 4,5 mm PTFE, for low pressures is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
