Description

Water sample bottle PP without sodium thiosulfate, brown, sterile (R), 1000 ml is a polypropylene container for the collection, transport and storage of water samples destined for microbiological analysis. Suitable wherever a sterile sample is required, these bottles are produced in aseptically controlled halls and subsequently sterilised by gamma irradiation. Batch numbers, manufacturing and expiry data appear on the packaging. The square body improves handling and saves storage space, while the GL 50 neck simplifies filling and pouring. Wide-grooved polyethylene caps feature self-locking action and an internal safety ring that ensures a hermetic, leak-proof seal. Embossed volume graduations on the side walls allow clear reading of the liquid level. Manufactured from a special PP formulation that blocks UV light yet retains good transparency, the brown bottles (ISOLAB Laborgeräte) protect light-sensitive samples. This variant is supplied without sodium thiosulfate and is intended for analyses that do not require chlorine neutralisation. Pack size is 22 pieces.

A plastic bottle is polyethylene, polypropylene or a fluoropolymer, narrow-mouth for pouring or wide-mouth for powders. It is the choice when the bottle must not shatter, and it is the wrong choice for solvents that swell the plastic.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
