Description

CHROMABOND Flash RS 80 SiOH columns are prepacked flash chromatography columns filled with unmodified silica (SiOH) at 15–40 µm particle size. Each column contains an 80 g sorbent bed housed in a polypropylene body with polyethylene filter elements, intended for normal-phase flash and preparative purification work. The SiOH stationary phase supports separation of organic molecules, reaction mixtures and natural-product fractions under conventional flash elution schemes. The 15–40 µm particle distribution is chosen to combine useful resolution with manageable operating pressure on typical flash systems. Packs of 12 pieces from manufacturer Macherey-Nagel provide a ready supply of uniformly packed columns, reducing preparation time compared with manual packing. Polypropylene construction with PE filter elements is compatible with common organic solvents used in laboratory flash chromatography. CHROMABOND Flash RS 80 SiOH columns are suited to research and development laboratories that need larger bed mass for scale-up clean-up, intermediate isolation and routine fraction collection on silica.

This article is part of SPE cartridges & columns, in SPE & sample preparation.

Questions about Chromab. Flash RS 80 SiOH, 15-40 µm

What is this article?

Chromab. Flash RS 80 SiOH, 15-40 µm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Macherey-Nagel for laboratory use. It sits in SPE cartridges & columns, inside SPE & sample preparation, in Chromatography equipment.

An SPE cartridge holds a bed of sorbent. Bed mass, sorbent chemistry and volume are the specification. A 100 mg C18 cartridge and a 1 g C18 cartridge take different sample loads and different elution volumes. The method names all three.

Solid-phase extraction holds a compound on a sorbent while the rest of the sample is washed away, then releases it in a small volume. The sorbent, the bed mass and the solvents are the method. Silica, ion exchangers and polymer phases do different jobs. A flash column is the same idea scaled toward purification rather than trace cleanup. The molecules are on PubChem, named by IUPAC.
