Description

Prepared COD vials (MR) 0–1500 mg/l, mercury-free, are reagent-prefilled tubes designed for chemical oxygen demand (COD/CSB) determination by photometry. Each vial measures Ø 16 mm × 100 mm and contains 3,3 ml of reagents, of which 2,4 ml is sulfuric acid (CAS 7664-93-9). The medium-range interval 0–1500 mg/l covers typical process and wastewater matrices with elevated organic content. This pack of 150 pieces comes from manufacturer Labbox in the METRIA assortment and is intended for laboratories with regular COD throughput. Compatibility extends to the PrimeLab 1.0 Multitest WATER-ID photometer as well as LOVIBOND, WTW, MACHEREY-NAGEL, MERCK, HANNA, AQUALYTIC, PALIN, BIOCHROM, HACH and other systems that use 16 mm vials. Mercury-free vials are preferable from an environmental and occupational-health standpoint, but they do not offer the same precision and reliability as mercury-based COD methods. For conformity testing, many authorities still expressly require mercuric sulfate to remove chloride interference. Ready-to-use filling reduces preparation time and supports standardized digestion and readout workflows wherever a mercury-free medium-range COD vial is specified.

What is this article?

COD (MR) 0 - 1500 mg/l prepared vials, mercury-free, 150 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in ICP, AAS & ion standards, inside Analytical standards & reference materials, in Lab chemicals.

An ICP, AAS or ion standard is a solution of a stated element or ion at a stated concentration, with an uncertainty. It is the calibration point of a spectrometer or an electrode. The matrix, often dilute acid, has to match the method. A standard past its expiry is not that concentration.

A reference material is the article against which another result is compared. Its value is stated, and the uncertainty of that value is part of the product. An ICP or ion standard is a solution of known concentration. A volumetric standard is for titration. A chromatography standard is the peak you match. The grade names, including pharmacopoeia and ASTM, say which impurities were limited. Identity is checked on PubChem. Names follow IUPAC. Medicinal grades follow the European Pharmacopoeia and USP.
