Description

Prepared COD vials (MR) 0–1500 mg/l, mercury-free, are ready-filled reagent tubes for photometric chemical oxygen demand (COD/CSB) measurement. Each vial has dimensions Ø 16 mm × 100 mm and holds 3,3 ml of reagents, including 2,4 ml sulfuric acid (CAS 7664-93-9). The medium-range span of 0–1500 mg/l suits samples with moderate organic load. Supplied as a compact pack of 25 pieces from manufacturer Labbox (METRIA), the vials are compatible with the PrimeLab 1.0 Multitest WATER-ID photometer and with 16 mm vial photometers from LOVIBOND, WTW, MACHEREY-NAGEL, MERCK, HANNA, AQUALYTIC, PALIN, BIOCHROM, HACH and other brands using the same format. Mercury-free COD chemistry reduces environmental and health concerns relative to mercury-based procedures, yet it does not match the precision and reliability of mercuric-sulfate methods. Many regulatory bodies still mandate mercury sulfate for compliance work to eliminate chloride interference. These pre-dosed tubes simplify digestion and measurement steps for laboratories that prefer a mercury-free medium-range COD reagent set in a smaller pack size for lower throughput or method evaluation.

What is this article?

COD (MR) 0 - 1500 mg/l prepared vials, mercury-free, 25 pcs is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in ICP, AAS & ion standards, inside Analytical standards & reference materials, in Lab chemicals.

An ICP, AAS or ion standard is a solution of a stated element or ion at a stated concentration, with an uncertainty. It is the calibration point of a spectrometer or an electrode. The matrix, often dilute acid, has to match the method. A standard past its expiry is not that concentration.

A reference material is the article against which another result is compared. Its value is stated, and the uncertainty of that value is part of the product. An ICP or ion standard is a solution of known concentration. A volumetric standard is for titration. A chromatography standard is the peak you match. The grade names, including pharmacopoeia and ASTM, say which impurities were limited. Identity is checked on PubChem. Names follow IUPAC. Medicinal grades follow the European Pharmacopoeia and USP.
