Description

CPC Coupling, PP, male part with valve and 1/4'' NPT thread is a quick-release connector for liquids, gases, compressed air and vacuum. Proven reliability, compact design, high flow capacity and simple one-hand operation characterise these couplings, which meet demanding laboratory and process requirements. A secure O-ring seal ensures leak-tight performance. Within the same flow size, female couplings and male nipples are fully interchangeable. The polypropylene body uses an EPDM seal as standard; operating pressure at 20 °C reaches up to 8 bar, and the operating temperature range is 0 °C to +110 °C. Spring and locking elements are stainless steel V4A. These quick-release couplings are ideal for connecting and disconnecting hoses, instruments, apparatus and containers. In the valved version the parts push together, lock automatically and open the valves; on one-hand decoupling the valves close automatically so leakage is prevented. This male coupling with valve is offered as a single piece from manufacturer Bürkle for everyday fluid-handling setups.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about CPC coupling, PP, male, w/ valve, 1/4'' NPT

What is this article?

CPC coupling, PP, male, w/ valve, 1/4'' NPT is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bürkle for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
