Description

Dry Block Heater 2 is a digital block thermostat for two aluminium block inserts, built for precise temperature control in small vessels. A supplied PT-1000 temperature sensor enables direct temperature regulation inside the sample vessels. Compatible formats include PCR tubes, PCR strips, Greiner tubes, standard tubes, microtiter plates and cuvettes. The instrument from manufacturer IKA is well suited to melting and boiling point determinations, enzyme reactions, incubation and activation of cultures, immunoassays, DNA denaturation, culture media processing, coagulation studies, blood urea nitrogen determinations and in-situ hybridisations. Temperature is continuously adjustable up to 120 °C. A countdown timer is settable from 1 min to 99 h 59 min, and a counter displays heating duration. Further practical functions include an error code display, a fixed safety circuit and an acoustic signal at the end of each run. A wide choice of interchangeable blocks supports versatile everyday laboratory use. Pack size is 1 pc.

Questions about Dry Block Heater 2, Dry block heater, 2 blocks

What is this article?

Dry Block Heater 2, Dry block heater, 2 blocks is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Hot plates & heating blocks, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

A hot plate heats a flat-bottom vessel from below, often with stirring. A heating block holds tubes in machined holes so each tube sees the same temperature. The block's hole diameter has to match the tube, or the heat never arrives.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
