DURAN® Allihn condenser (bulb condenser) featuring two NS 24/29 ground joints and a 400 mm length is precision laboratory glassware manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3. Its design mirrors that of a Liebig condenser, yet the internal riser tube is pinched at equal intervals to form the distinctive series of bulbs. The resulting geometry increases cooling surface area and intensifies vapour turbulence, delivering superior cooling capacity. Two detachable plastic olives allow convenient attachment of coolant supply and return lines, while the standardised ground joints guarantee a leak-tight fit. Typical applications include reflux condensation to return solvent vapours to the reaction flask, as well as general distillation and product cooling. The 400 mm version with NS 24/29 constitutes a special size not covered by DIN.
