Description

DURAN® Dimroth condenser NS 29/32, 400 mm is a laboratory glass condenser featuring an internal cooling spiral that delivers a large cooling surface via the countercurrent principle. This design provides efficient condensation and is widely used as a reflux condenser: vapours from a heated reaction mixture condense on the spiral and return to the flask. Two detachable plastic olives allow straightforward connection of coolant inlet and outlet, while standard ground joints ensure a tight seal. Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3 by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the unit combines chemical resistance with thermal stability for routine organic synthesis and distillation work. Typical applications include product and reflux cooling as well as general distillation setups. The 400 mm length with NS 29/32 joints suits standard laboratory assemblies; shorter variants are special sizes outside DIN. Supplied as a single piece, this Dimroth condenser offers reliable performance for preparative chemistry requiring effective vapour recovery and controlled reflux.

Questions about DURAN® Dimroth Condenser, standard ground joints and plastic hose connections

What is this article?

DURAN® Dimroth Condenser, standard ground joints and plastic hose connections is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Hose connectors, adapters & fittings, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A hose connector or adapter joins two lines, or steps one bore down to another. The barb diameter has to match the tube, and the thread has to match the stopcock or the bottle. Most leaks are a mismatch here, not a hole in the tube.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
