Description
DURAN® Filter crucible 50 ml with porosity 1 is a stemless laboratory filter crucible engineered for efficient solid-liquid separation under reduced pressure. Equipped with an integrated glass sinter base that serves as the filter medium, it eliminates the need for separate filter paper and enables secure placement for drying the retained solid in a vacuum desiccator. The body tapers gently towards the base, reducing the risk of contaminating the rubber sleeve during filtration. Made from proven DURAN® borosilicate glass 3.3 supplied by Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the crucible combines outstanding chemical resistance with high thermal shock resistance and carries a permanently fired white print for durable identification. Its 50 ml nominal volume and 0,05 kg net weight make it well suited to qualitative analysis, preparative chemistry, residue isolation and further processing steps. Compatible rubber sleeves and filter adapters are available to complete the vacuum filtration set-up, supporting reliable routine work in research and analytical laboratories.

Questions about DURAN® Filter Crucible
What is this article?
DURAN® Filter Crucible is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Crucibles, inside Dishes, crucibles & porcelain, in Labware.
A crucible holds a sample in a furnace or over a flame, at temperatures that would soften a borosilicate beaker. Porcelain, platinum and glazed ceramic are different articles. The form, tall or wide, decides how fast a sample dries or ashes.
A dish is an open vessel for drying, evaporating or holding a solid. Porcelain and glazed ceramic take a higher temperature than borosilicate glass, which is why a crucible, not a beaker, goes into a furnace. A watch glass covers, or holds a small amount for drying. A mortar is for grinding. The temperature and the chemical, not the shape alone, choose the material. Laboratory ware of this family is listed under ISO laboratory ware.
