Description
DURAN® GL 45 connection screw cap with 3 GL 14 ports is a flexible modular connection cap system manufactured from polypropylene (PP) in blue/grey. Designed for GL 45 laboratory bottles, it accommodates four rigid or semi-rigid tubing outer diameters—1,6 mm, 3,0 mm, 3,2 mm and 6,0 mm—via interchangeable GL 14 inserts that seal tightly around the tubing. Unused ports can be closed with a red GL 14 screw cap, and sterile pressure equalisation is achievable with a 0,2 µm syringe filter. Over- or underpressure applied at the closure allows liquid to be pumped from or filled into the bottle. Blue open-top GL 14 caps with the corresponding inserts secure tubing of different diameters. Fully compatible with all GL 45 threads, the system from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences is intended for sterile liquid transfer into and out of laboratory bottles, gas transfer, liquid transfer between bottles, reagent supply to instruments and bioreactor feeding. Three ports provide additional connection flexibility for multi-line fluid handling in closed laboratory setups.

Questions about DURAN® GL 45 Connection Cap System, with screw cap and 2 or 3 GL 14 ports, PP
What is this article?
DURAN® GL 45 Connection Cap System, with screw cap and 2 or 3 GL 14 ports, PP is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.
A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.
A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
