DURAN® glass stopper, clear and solid with standard ground joint NS 10/19 and octagonal head, is designed to close flasks, separatory funnels or reagent bottles fitted with matching ground-joint necks. The precision-ground taper forms a tight, leak-proof seal; grease may be applied for heating or vacuum work. Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3, the stopper consists solely of glass components and is therefore suitable for storing aggressive materials. It is particularly useful for air-sensitive reagents and chemicals as well as hygroscopic solids, granules and powders. These stoppers from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences offer reliable chemical resistance and dimensional stability. Note that temperature differences greater than 30 °C between stopper and soda-lime glass bottles may cause sticking.
