Description

DURAN® microbiology bottle with wide unground neck is a culture flask formed from DURAN® borosilicate 3.3 Type I glass and suited to media preparation or cultivation of microorganisms. The 2000 ml clear bottle complies with ISO 4796-2 and features a wide conical unground neck for use with rubber stoppers. The generous neck opening permits comfortable filling and thorough cleaning. A retrace code ensures full traceability, while the white printed marking is fired into the glass for permanent durability. The bottle withstands autoclaving at 121 °C or 134 °C and is also suitable for dry-heat sterilisation. It is supplied without a stopper and offered in a convenient multipack. Typical applications include autoclaving of media and reagents, preparation of media and reagents, and use as a culture vessel. This laboratory bottle from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences delivers reliable thermal and chemical resistance characteristic of Type I borosilicate glass. Microbiological laboratories value the practical wide-neck handling and robust construction that maintains clarity and integrity through repeated sterilisation cycles in research or production environments.
