Description
DURAN® screw connection cap with central bore is a red polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) open screw closure engineered for GL 18 bottle threads. It incorporates a PTFE-coated silicone seal based on peroxide-cured silicone that provides high tightness and greater chemical resistance than conventional polypropylene closures. This design enables aseptic reagent dispensing or culture sampling by means of a syringe and needle through the central opening. A compatible pouring ring manufactured from red ETFE is available to support clean, drip-free handling. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, the cap is fully compatible with standard GL bottle threads and is intended for laboratory workflows that demand durable, chemically robust open closures. The distinctive red colour facilitates quick visual recognition among laboratory consumables. With a net weight of 0,004 kg, the component offers a lightweight yet sturdy solution for research and analytical environments where secure yet accessible bottle sealing is essential for routine sampling and reagent transfer tasks.

Questions about DURAN® Open Topped Screw Cap, central aperture, PBT, red
What is this article?
DURAN® Open Topped Screw Cap, central aperture, PBT, red is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.
A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.
A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
