Description
DURAN® reagent bottle, narrow neck, amber, with NS 12/21 ground joint is a classic stoppered bottle formed from DURAN® borosilicate 3.3 Type 1 glass. Nominal volume is 25 ml; the bottle comes with a glass stopper for storage of liquid and solid chemicals and reagents. The narrow conical joint meets ISO 4796-2, the slim neck suits liquids and the shoulder angle supports clean pouring. The glass stopper seals excellently against evaporation, oxidation and contamination. Permanent white enamel provides a marking field and Retrace Code for manufacturing traceability. External amber colouring protects light-sensitive materials from photodegradation, offering UV protection up to approximately 500 nm in line with USP and EP (3.2.1) standards for the bottle lifetime. External-only colouring leaves inner DURAN® properties unchanged. Consisting only of glass components, the bottle from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences suits aggressive materials, light-sensitive reagents, pharmaceuticals and hygroscopic liquids, with an easy-to-read graduated scale.

A laboratory glass bottle is borosilicate or soda-lime, with a stated capacity and a neck for a screw cap or a ground stopper. Glass is the choice when the liquid attacks a plastic, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved.
A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
