Description

DURAN® straight stopcock, taper 1:5, with PTFE key, complete is a ready-to-use shut-off cock that enables grease-free laboratory work. It combines an NS 13,5 joint, a 2 mm bore and a PTFE key with 1:5 taper. The three-part stopcock retainer holds the key securely in the barrel, while the larger cone angle reduces the risk of jamming. Complete DURAN® straight stopcocks with PTFE keys from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences are particularly suitable for vacuum applications and for installation in glass apparatus. The polished stopcock surface supports lubricant-free operation, which is advantageous whenever grease contamination must be avoided. Constructed from borosilicate glass 3.3, the unit is supplied as a glass article for further processing into custom assemblies. Each piece has a net weight of 0,04 kg and arrives complete with the PTFE key already fitted. This configuration delivers reliable shut-off performance in vacuum systems and general liquid-handling setups that demand chemical resistance and clean, grease-free operation.

This article is part of Stopcocks & valves, in Tubing, hoses & fittings.

Questions about DURAN® Single Way Stopcock, Taper 1:5, with PTFE key, complete

What is this article?

DURAN® Single Way Stopcock, Taper 1:5, with PTFE key, complete is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Stopcocks & valves, inside Tubing, hoses & fittings, in Labware.

A stopcock opens and closes a line, or directs it between ports. Glass stopcocks have a ground plug that needs grease or a PTFE key. The bore decides the flow. A two-way and a three-way key are different parts.

Tubing is how a liquid or a gas moves between two vessels without being poured. Silicone stays flexible and survives repeated autoclaving. PTFE resists almost every solvent and is stiff. PVC is the ordinary flexible line for water and for mild aqueous work. The fitting, not the tube, is what usually leaks: the barb, the thread and the stopcock have to match the tube bore. Glass and plastic apparatus around these lines is indexed under ISO laboratory ware.
