Description

DURAN® torque wrench insert for GL 25, GL 32 and GL 45 screw caps enables reproducible application of closing force on laboratory bottle caps. Torque determines seal integrity: excessive force can load parts of the cap unevenly and impair the seal, whereas insufficient torque risks leakage or unintended loosening. Using the recommended torque helps maintain a dependable closure under the stated temperature, humidity and mechanical conditions. Size and type of the closure thread are engraved on the upper surface for clear identification, and an engraved batch-specific code aids certification. The socket matches the common 1/4-inch industrial drive standard and is manufactured from high-strength aluminium alloy EN AW-2007 for cleanroom-compatible handling. Components are made in Germany and supplied by manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences. The insert is intended for tightening GL screw caps on DURAN® glass bottles to the correct torque and for easier wrench-assisted opening or closing of laboratory glassware.

Questions about DURAN® Torque Wrench Socket, for GL 25, GL 32 or GL 45 screw caps

What is this article?

DURAN® Torque Wrench Socket, for GL 25, GL 32 or GL 45 screw caps is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Screw caps & closures, inside Stoppers, caps & closures, in Labware.

A screw cap has a thread and a liner. The thread has to match the bottle. The liner has to survive the liquid: a pulp liner fails in a solvent that a PTFE-faced liner ignores. The colour of the cap is not the specification.

A closure is the part that decides whether a bottle stays shut and whether the contents attack the seal. A ground-glass stopper matches a ground neck. A screw cap needs the right thread and a liner that survives the liquid. Rubber and silicone stoppers push into a mouth. The liner, not the colour of the cap, is the chemical choice. The vessels they close are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
