Description

DURAN® three-neck round-bottom flask with standard ground joints (NS) and angled side necks is a multi-neck laboratory vessel manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3. Offering a nominal volume of 500 ml, the flask combines a centre neck of NS 29/32 with two angled side necks of NS 14/23. This configuration enables condensers, columns, thermometers, dropping funnels, boiling capillaries and related accessories to be installed according to process needs. Multi-neck flasks of this type are primarily employed for distillation, fractionation and reaction procedures. The vessel geometry promotes very uniform heating, and the standard ground joints deliver a tight seal for secure assembly. Permanent white printed markings remain clearly legible over long service life. Ideal for extraction work, coupling to additional glassware, heating steps and operation in heating baths or mantles, this DURAN® flask from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences supports efficient multi-connection laboratory workflows requiring reliable thermal and mechanical performance.

Questions about DURAN® Triple-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, angled side necks

What is this article?

DURAN® Triple-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, angled side necks is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
