DURAN® Vacuum Desiccator Set, Type MOBILEX (GL 32) with stopcock and PTFE spindle is a vacuum-rated laboratory vessel with ground-joint lid for storing moisture-sensitive substances and drying moist products. This DN 300 set includes a porcelain plate and is made from borosilicate glass 3.3. A drying agent in the lower section, separated by the perforated plate, binds moisture from samples placed above. Vacuum applied via the stopcock connection accelerates drying, as reduced pressure speeds liquid evaporation. The flat ground joint must be well greased to ease lid release after evacuation, when the lid is pressed firmly onto the base. Substantial wall thickness and precisely finished vacuum-tight joints enable extended storage under vacuum. Suitable for full vacuum down to 0 mbar, the set from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences supports removal of moisture from solids, long-term storage of hygroscopic materials and safe vacuum drying.
