DURAN® Vacuum Desiccator Set, Type MOBILEX (GL 32) featuring a stopcock with PTFE spindle is a vacuum-suitable laboratory vessel with ground-joint lid used to store moisture-sensitive substances and to dry moist products. Offered in DN 200 without porcelain plate, the unit is produced from borosilicate glass 3.3. Drying agent introduced into the lower section beneath a sieve plate absorbs moisture from samples resting on the plate. Application of vacuum via the stopcock connection shortens drying time, since reduced internal pressure accelerates liquid evaporation. Proper greasing of the flat ground joint facilitates lid removal after evacuation, when the lid is forced onto the base. Massive wall thickness together with precisely finished vacuum-tight joints permits extended vacuum storage.
