DURAN® Vacuum Desiccator Set, Type MOBILEX (GL 32) with stopcock and PTFE spindle is a vacuum-capable laboratory vessel with ground-joint lid designed for storing moisture-sensitive substances and drying moist products. Supplied without porcelain plate in DN 250 size, the unit is manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3. A desiccant is placed in the lower section beneath a sieve plate (metal or porcelain), binding moisture from the sample resting above. Connecting vacuum via the stopcock accelerates drying because reduced pressure speeds evaporation. All DURAN® desiccators are vacuum-tight and suitable for full vacuum down to 0 mbar. Massive wall thickness and precisely finished vacuum-tight ground joints on lid and base allow extended storage under vacuum. The flat ground joint should be well greased for easier lid release after evacuation. Compatible spare parts such as lids, bases, stopcocks and closures can be interchanged when the DN is observed.
