Description

FDO® 925-3 is a precise, flow-independent optical IDS oxygen sensor designed for reliable dissolved oxygen determination in laboratory and field water analysis. It features a bevelled, air-bubble-repellent membrane that minimises interference from trapped bubbles and supports stable readings even under low or variable flow conditions. The sensor is insensitive to hydrogen sulphide (H2S), making it suitable for samples where conventional electrochemical probes may be compromised. A fixed 3 m cable terminates in a waterproof digital connector for secure, moisture-resistant connection to compatible IDS meters. Optical sensing eliminates the need for frequent electrolyte refills or membrane changes associated with galvanic or polarographic electrodes, reducing maintenance effort. The FDO® 925-3 from manufacturer WTW - a Xylem brand is intended for environmental monitoring, wastewater control and process applications requiring robust, low-maintenance oxygen measurement. Supplied as a single complete sensor unit, it integrates directly into digital IDS measuring systems for accurate, flow-independent results.

What is this article?

FDO® 925-3, Optical IDS DO sensor with fast responding bevelled membrane, with 3 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes WTW - a Xylem brand for laboratory use. It sits in Dissolved oxygen & multiparameter meters, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A dissolved-oxygen meter reads oxygen in a liquid, optically or with a Clark cell. A multiparameter meter adds pH, conductivity or both on one instrument. The sensor cap or the membrane is the consumable. A reading in air and a reading in water are different calibrations.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
