Description
VitraPOR® glass filter plate, 10 mm, porosity 4, is a round, centred sintered disc produced from borosilicate glass 3.3 for demanding laboratory filtration work. It features a nominal thickness of 2,8 mm (± 0,7 mm) and an untreated surface. Porosity grade 4 corresponds to a fine pore structure intended for fine filtration, clarifying steps and applications that need tighter particle retention with controlled flow. Borosilicate glass 3.3 combines chemical durability against common laboratory solvents with thermal stability suitable for integration into glass apparatus. The 10 mm diameter allows standardised fitting into custom filter holders, funnels or fritted assemblies. Supplied in packs of 10 pieces from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon. The untreated, round-centred geometry supports direct installation or subsequent laboratory processing. Tight control of diameter and thickness promotes reproducible mounting and sealing wherever a compact porosity grade 4 sintered filter plate is required in analytical or preparative glass systems.

What is this article?
Filter Disc, centered, 10 mm, Por. 4 Thickness 2.8 mm ± 0.7 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
