Description

Filter funnel 500 ml, Por. 3 is a borosilicate 3.3 glass filtration vessel fitted with an integrated VitraPOR® sintered filter plate of 95 mm diameter and porosity grade 3. The working height above the filter plate is 100 mm, giving sufficient headspace for sample addition and vacuum-assisted solid–liquid separation in routine laboratory workflows. This Büchner-style filter nutsche is intended for collecting precipitates, clarifying suspensions and performing medium-porosity filtrations commonly required in analytical chemistry, synthesis work-up and quality-control laboratories. The borosilicate 3.3 construction provides the chemical resistance and thermal stability expected of standard laboratory glassware, while the permanently fused VitraPOR® disc ensures a consistent filtration surface without loose filter media. Supplied as a single piece from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, the 500 ml unit integrates easily into existing vacuum filtration assemblies and supports repeated use under appropriate laboratory conditions. Porosity 3 is selected when a balance between flow rate and particle retention is needed for typical laboratory solids. The design focuses on reliable, reproducible filtration performance for everyday preparative and analytical tasks.

Questions about Filter Funnel, 500 ml, Por. 3

What is this article?

Filter Funnel, 500 ml, Por. 3 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
