Description

Filter funnel 75 ml, porosity 2 is a laboratory filtration funnel fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3 for vacuum-assisted or gravity solid-liquid separations. It contains a fused VitraPOR® sintered filter plate of 48 mm diameter with porosity grade 2, providing a finer pore structure suited to retaining smaller particles while still permitting controlled filtrate flow. The height of the cylindrical section above the filter plate is 50 mm, yielding a working volume of 75 ml appropriate for bench-scale sample handling. This filter funnel from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon is designed for routine applications such as isolation of fine precipitates, collection of recrystallised products, clarification of suspensions and preparation of samples in organic synthesis, inorganic chemistry and analytical laboratories. The permanently integrated VitraPOR® disc eliminates loose filter media, reduces contamination risk and ensures reproducible filtration behaviour. All-glass borosilicate 3.3 construction confers chemical resistance to many aqueous and organic solvents together with good thermal durability for everyday laboratory use. The compact 75 ml format fits conventional filtration assemblies and is convenient for parallel work-up of multiple small batches in research, quality-control and educational environments.

Questions about Filter Funnel, 75 ml, Por. 2

What is this article?

Filter Funnel, 75 ml, Por. 2 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
