The sample is placed in the outer vial and forced through the membrane by pressing the inner insert; the filtrate remains in the vial, which can then be loaded directly into an autosampler. The assembly consists of an internal insert with a membrane chamber and an external polypropylene vial. Standard configuration includes snap-ring caps with a slotted silicone/PTFE septum; an unslotted septum is available on request.
