Description

Two-neck round-bottom flask with standard ground joints is a borosilicate glass LBG 3.3 vessel intended for preparative chemistry, distillation and multi-port reaction assemblies. It offers a nominal volume of 500 ml (0,5 l) and is equipped with two necks: a central joint NS 29/32 and a lateral joint NS 14/23 for flexible attachment of condensers, addition funnels, sensors or inert-gas lines. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3, the flask combines good chemical resistance with the thermal performance required for heating and cooling cycles on the bench. Net weight is 0,230 kg, giving a solid yet manageable piece for clamp mounting and mantle use. Typical applications include organic synthesis, solvent recovery, fractionation and use as a receiving or intermediate flask in ground-joint apparatus. Available as one piece from manufacturer Labbox, this two-neck round-bottom flask fits standard laboratory glassware systems in research, education and industrial QC environments.

What is this article?

Flask, round bottom with two necks, LBG 3.3, cent. 29/32, side 14/23, 500 ml is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
